senior account executive, Laura Gift Mitchell uses her talent and experience to
generate positive results for clients. In her nine years with the firm, she has
provided clients with knowledge, expertise and attention to detail that helps
them meet their goals and objectives. She knows how to write copy that commands
attention, and she has developed solid media relationships. Ms. Mitchell
contributes to communication programs in several ways. For example, she has:
- Written, edited and produced
electronic newsletters for the management consulting division of an
international water and energy engineering company.
- Created and executed media
pitches, in addition to writing news releases, preparing press briefing
packets, scheduling interviews and contacting editors about client products,
programs, activities and services.
- Coordinated special event
planning, including speechwriting, correspondence with key audiences,
media placements and logistics.
- Assisted clients dealing with
sensitive issues, including coordination of meetings with government and
community leaders, preparation of briefing materials, organization of
letter writing campaigns and media relations.
- Wrote and designed client
brochures and newsletters that support public relations and marketing
strategies developed on behalf of clients.
- Helped clients handle crisis
situations, such as bank robberies, industrial accidents and government
penalties, by developing and carrying out strategies to minimize the
short- and long-term impact of these crises.
- Represented clients in meetings
with designers and printers to assure that the finished product meets high
expectations.
- Handled media buying and placement
for clients.
- Wrote video scripts and shoots and
edited footage for promotional videos.
- Conducted feasibility study
research.
Prior
to joining Leslie Kline Lukas &
Associates, Ms. Mitchell was an award-winning newspaper editor and
reporter. She won honors from both the Iowa Newspaper Association and the
National Newspaper Association for reporting, editorial management, publication design and community service.
She
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer journalism from Iowa
State
University,
and while in college participated in a yearlong exchange program in Glasgow,
Scotland.
