Hospital Expansion

Introduction

A $3 million planned expansion project by a community hospital needed a commitment of voluntary contributions to be financially viable.  Because of a depressed local business and agriculture economy, some leaders believed a fund campaign would not succeed.  Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates was asked to study the question and recommend actions.

Goals and Objectives

Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates identified the following tasks:

Strategy

Leslie Kline Lukas & Associates conducted a feasibility study, interviewing 50 prominent community leaders concerning hospital plans and identifying leadership for the best chance of success.  The study also named prospective major donors to the campaign.  Based on the study, a goal of between $400,000 and $500,000 was identified.
